New Energy Supplier in the Village

Due to an electrical supplier change, you will be receiving various communications from Ameren Illinois and Constellation NewEnergy that may seem confusing. Read below for an explanation on what these notifications mean.

Effective Dec. 1, the Village of Glen Carbon contract with Homefield Energy expires. That rate was .0429 cents per kilowatt of energy.

Due to the contract expiring, in December 2022 and January 2023, your energy provider will be Ameren Illinois, with a current rate of 0.12236 cents per kilowatt. You have the option of staying with Ameren Illinois OR transitioning to the Village’s new energy provider, Constellation NewEnergy, beginning in February of 2023.

The Village has re-bid and has executed a 22-month contract with Constellation NewEnergy that will begin in February 2023 at a secured rate of 0.1210 cents per kilowatt. Please note: This was the lowest and only bid available. If you would like to get the lower rate with Constellation NewEnergy, please ignore the OPT-OUT notification letters you will be receiving from Ameren Illinois.

Ameren Illinois will send a confirmation letter approximately 15-20 days after the opt-out letters are mailed confirming that you have successfully switched from Ameren Illinois to the Village’s new energy provider, Constellation NewEnergy.
