Senior and Community Center

The Center is staffed Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• A variety of Senior Citizen Programs are conducted Monday through Friday.
• A "Cyber Cafe" Computer Room is available for Senior use during operational hours.
• The center is available for rental during the above periods and at other times.
• Glen Carbon residents may rent the center for private events. Contact the center at (618) 288-2664 for more information.

Para-Transit Service:

The Glen Carbon Senior/Community Center has a Para-Transit Service for Senior Citizens and physically-challenged residents in the Village of Glen Carbon. This service is available for Medical Appointments, Grocery Stores, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Hair Salons and Barber Shops, Banks and Financial Institutions, Glen Carbon Library and Anderson Hospital for visits and medical appointments, etc. The service is not available for emergency use. 

Para-Transit Hours of Operation: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This service is provided on a reservation system. You must call the Senior/Community Center at least one (1) day before service is required with a pick-up time and destination. For more information or to reserve a ride call (618) 288-2664.

Glen Carbon Seniors Group:

The Glen Carbon Seniors Group meets Tuesday afternoons from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. New members are always welcome! Want to learn more? Contact the Senior Center at (618) 288-2664. 

Community Center Rental Scheduling: 

Community residents may schedule the Senior Center for activities simply by filling out a reservation form and contacting the Senior Center Administrator in advance. Certain fees may apply. Those interested in reserving the facility may visit the Center during operational business hours Monday through Friday to schedule their activity and fill out a form. After Hours Activities: 

When activities are scheduled after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and at any time on weekends, please go to the neighboring Glen Carbon Police Department building's dispatcher window to obtain entry into the building. A signed and approved reservation form from the Senior/Community Center is necessary as proof for admittance.
